Jumpstart Creativity: Try Something New

I’ve been talking about how to become more creative.  If you missed the previous post, You ARE Creative: tips on how you can become more creative now, click HERE to read.  It will get you fired up and ready to try something new … which is what we’re talking about today!  So let’s get started!

Our brains are so complex.  It’s been said that they are more powerful and faster than the most current supercomputers.  And the synapses in a single brain number more than the number of galaxies in the observable universe, and more the stars contained in the Milky Way galaxy!!!  Tell me that happened on accident.  Go ahead and try.  LOL.  Brains fascinate me.  Because I’m a nerd.  Ok, moving on to how this applies to trying something new and creativity… Continue reading…

2016 and this blog…

Hi everyone!  My first post of 2016 has been carefully prepared with prayer.  I have taken a small break from the blog to seek God and see what He wants me to do with this.  I feel that He has answered, and that the theme for this blog this year is to “Awaken the Gifts.”  What does that mean?  Glad you asked!  Let me fill you in! Continue reading…

Prep for Launch!

I’m so excited!  Yesterday I sent the book to the printer.  That’s a big deal.  Like a really big deal.  Like I thought that the day would never come because I’ve been working on this forever and printing didn’t seem like it would ever be a reality.  Now, my stomach is doing flip flops.   Continue reading…

Ready for Copy Edit!

Book Update:

I finally finished editing the text to the point that it’s now ready for the copyeditor.  I cannot think of anything else to add to it, and I’m fairly certain all the loose plot ends are tied.  With that said, I’m confident it’s ready to be put through the wringer with an editor.  I, know, commas, are, my, worst, enemies.   Anyway, an editor should be able to help me out in that area.  I’m ready to be edited.  Now, I’m turing to work on the artwork, and crank that out.  Text is officially DONE!  …at least until I get the changes back from copyediting.

What is Your Gift?

You’d be surprised how many people I encounter who truly believe they have no special talent or gift.  I can’t believe that’s true at all!  I want to set the record straight.  You DO have a gift!  You’re believing a lie if you think there is nothing special about you. Continue reading…

How Much Can You Handle?

The Bible doesn’t say that God won’t give you more than you can handle. I have no idea where that concept came from, but I suspect it’s mankind’s wishful thinking. I think the verse that people confuse with this concept is 1 Corinthians 10:13, which says, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” Continue reading…
