Now let me be clear, as I’ve said all along, you don’t have to be an “artist” to benefit from creativity in your life. Creativity doesn’t have to be spent on only certain categories of aspiration. It’s not for only drawing, or writing, or painting, or whatever stereotype you have in mind that is a creative pursuit.
The word creativity itself has “create” at its foundation. So make something! Use your hands. Build. Construct. Create. Bring together materials. Pull from an unseen concept and bring something forth into reality.
Bake a cake! Make a greeting card! Sew something! Fold some origami! Grab some wire and make jewelry! Nail some wood and paint it! Up-cycle something! Find something at a thrift shop and make it new!
There is no limit to what you can create. And who knows, you may even find a new hobby.
The point is, to act on that creative drive and make something. Anything. Because God has instilled creativity within us, something crying out in our brain is satisfied when we put our hands to work creating something that didn’t exist before. There is seriously a rush or mood lifting endorphins and satisfaction in working and creating.
Even if you’ve never made anything with your own hands, I encourage you to try it! Your brain will thank you.
Speaking of making things, I’ve recently gotten back into wire-wrapped jewelry. I’m thinking of selling them maybe on etsy, maybe on here, or Facebook. I’m not sure yet, but I’ll let you know. Here are a few of the items I’ve made so far:
